The "Day Off"
October 13, 2004
Generally I work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, which gives me Monday and Friday off. I job share my position at work, so if there is a need, my “partner” and I can switch dyas. That was the case yesterday. She didn’t have anyone to cover babysitting, so we switched, thus I got Tuesday off.
After spending a lazy morning with breakfast, I spent some time attending to email, posting on the few discussion boards I am on, and reading all my favorite blogs. I had lunch with DH since he’s going to be traveling for most of the week. Afterwards I ran over to an apartment complex to fill out a lease application for the one-bedroom furnished apartment we are going to rent while we wait for our house to sell. Can’t buy another house until the one we own doesn’t belong to us anymore! So I filled out the paperwork, provided all the necessary identification along with my right arm and left leg! Gosh, they don’t ask for too much now do they? Ran the lease over to DH to get his signature and ran back to drop off the signed application to the manager. Thank goodness his place of employment is only 15 minutes from the complex. Having completed all that baloney, I trotted back to where we are staying in the interim (with friends).
I spent the remainder of the afternoon finishing statistical data entry for an audit report I am writing for one of my bosses, and then had dinner; calamari with marinara sauce. Yum! Yeah I know it’s not a fasting day, but it was soooooo good! Though I’ve not found anyone who can make calamari like my grandmother did (memory eternal). After dinner I finished the report I had started earlier in the day for “da boss” so I can email it to her today so she can write the conclusions.
The evening was spent writing a letter to my sister. It seems I cannot call her on my cell phone as the call will not go through. In speaking with my cell phone carrier, they declare it is “her” phone carrier’s problem not mine since I can send/receive calls from everyone else but my sister. It’s quite aggravating as she and I speak to one another at least twice a week! She doesn’t have email, so we are reduced to sending messages through Daddy or writing letters. How Victorian! Hope the situ gets resolved soon!
After work today I shall be taking pizza to my friend’s house (her hubster is traveling as well) and we shall catch on news and I will get to play with the kids.
All in all, a good couple days. Nothing really special, but steadily busy. Good and blessed things.
