Ukrainian towel – second one I’ve made.  I am not completely happy with it. A few too many mistakes.  I was going to gift it to someone, but probably won’t because of them.  It is pretty nonetheless.

  1. Fabulous, thank you so much! (And I agree with the others – the mistakes are invisible to us seeing them on the ‘net, and a handmade gift is always welcome!)

  2. Mrs. Mutton, while the patterns were not designed by me, I chose various ones and put them together to make the collective design. I found this great website that has all sorts of cross stitch patterns for this type of thing. That was my source. The link is: http://rushnychok.org.ua/ I know you will enjoy looking through it!

  3. Have just come across your blog and the Ukrainian towel caught my attention. I am half Ukrainian (or as I like to say, half Cossack and half Viking). On my aged rocking chair sits a pillow completed by my Ukrainian baba (grandmother for the uninitiated). She could neither read nor write. The work is full of “mistakes” but the love is unmistakable. Your work needs no apology. Do gift it to your friend; it will be well received.

  4. Thanks Ramona! You’re very sweet and I appreciate the compliment and the Baltic vote! I’m not Ukrainian either but love the towels.

  5. It’s gorgeous! Mistakes? What mistakes? I don’t see any 🙂 Although I am not Ukrainian, my background is Lithuanian and my Baltic vote (LOL) is for giving it as a gift 🙂
