Our dear daughter and son-in-marriage are expecting a wee one the last week of April 2014 – the first grand-baby for both sides of the family. To say we are excited would be a big understatement. We are simply over the moon!
For her whole life our daughter has been known as Bran’ Muffin by her paternal aunt. (Trill the ‘r’ when you mumble it to get the right sound.) When her aunt found out about the pregnancy she exclaimed, “Bran’muffin has a bun in the oven! Oh, wait! She has a muffin in the oven!!!”
Monday an ultrasound was done and gender determined to be of the female persuasion. The Hubster texted the news to his sister, “Muffin is a she!” And She’Muffin it became.
It’s funny…knowing “the baby” is a “she” just makes things so….different. Not because anyone is disappointed or happy, but as Mommy Muffin put it, “It’s getting to know her.”
Then came this text message. “Isn’t she cute?” Spoken like a true mother.
Psalm 139:13-14 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
